Quarantunes #10 with Raul Malo ???? Hey Gumbaree by Lou Monte

I love any instrument that can go from the sublime to the ridiculous with the flick of a switch. As I go down this rabbit hole with the Mellotron I’ve realized that there are way more songs possible than I even imagined (Don’t worry I’m not going to play them all. You’ll see why after this one...lol). I don’t think the original intent of the instrument was to play complete pieces of music while in pattern mode. In this song, during the first false start, you hear the pattern stop even though I was still pressing the key. I think it’s kind of cool that the manufacturers kept it like the original. Those loops were on tapes that were triggered by the keys and they can only go for so long. Anyways, this is one for the “ridiculous” category. The hardest part of this piece was getting the lyrics right ???????? I didn’t do that either. Anyways, I hope everyone stays safe and healthy and we will see you on the other side.
