I want you to know that I am as frightened as you are. I am as scared as you are. I am as worried as you are. We (US) have the most cases of COVID-19 in the world. I don’t take this lightly. Neither should you. These videos that we’ve been posting are not necessarily indicative of those feelings. They’re not supposed to be. At the end of the day no matter what we entertain. That’s what all my fellow artists and I are doing right now. We are entertaining you. This video today is a little more somber. I read a story today of a normally healthy 45 year-old man and his contracting of the virus and his subsequent care. And his detailed description of his healthcare workers and what they do, put into perspective their courage, commitment and sacrifice. These people are brothers, sisters, moms and dads, aunts and uncles, etc...that are leaving their families to take care of others. I have had tears in my eyes all day and they started with that story. And then I see a story where the neighbors of the surrounding hospitals in the NY area are coming out onto their balconies at 7:00 PM to voice their gratitude. More tears. Of course there are countless stories...policemen, firemen, military, volunteers, reporters, etc...all putting their butts on the line. One of the reasons I cry is that I’m feeling gratitude. Immense gratitude. All I have to do is go upstairs and play with my music box. I’m home. My family is all here with me. Safe. At least for now and hopefully for a while. My glasses today are hiding tears. I had to sing this one many times before I could make it all the way through without breaking up. I wasn’t going to post this or write any of this. But I really wanted you all to know that you are not alone in your fears and your worries. We all have them. We’re all in this together...RM ????
